REMINDER - Yard Waste Collection

The Village of Dakota is excited to offer a new yard waste collection service. This will be a trial service for 2023 and subject to change.
Curb-side pick up will typically begin in April and run until fall, weather permitting.
Yard waste will typically be picked up the first and third Monday of each month. The alternative date due to rain or other delays, will be the first or third Wednesday of the month. All dates are subject to change.
All items must be placed at the curb by 6am Monday. Items may not be placed at curb on Friday during garbage and recycling pick-up.
Yard waste must be in lawn and leaf paper bags. No plastic bags.
Items that may be included in yard waste include grass clippings, leaves, flowers, plants, garden waste, shrubs, twigs, bundled branches and small limbs.
Small limbs and neatly bundled branches must be less than 4 feet in length and weigh less than 75 pounds. They should be placed neatly at the curb.
The Village will only pick up reasonable amounts of yard waste. All removal of items are at the discretion of the Dakota Maintenance Department.
